with 3 out of 4 engines can be troublesome. With 2 it's nearly impossible. But then, it was said this whole feature was impossible for BF, but here it is anyway: The "MDT". It's in no way related to the Mod developement toolkit, actually the developement of this started long befor Dices MDT was even thought about. After 3 years of developement and constant failure, Lobo made this breakthrough possible due to creating the parts needed for me to code the first "Multi Damage Technology" plane to take off in Bf1942. Now, befor you start doing crazy things or having hopes that could be disappointed later on, a warning: this only works 100% in SP atm. I will describe the MP problems later on. This is a normal Lancaster, only just I shot a gunmag into the inner engine. Another Lancaster, this time I shot a different engine. Poor placement of the flames, I know, but that's not what this was about. The broken engine stops, spits flames, and all that independent from the state the planes body is in. It also stops working flightphysically, means you have to compensate the unsymmetric thrust, and you get slower. When a certain engine is hit, also the gear stops working, it stays where it is. (Bellylanding, here I come) So far so good, in SP it's like that. In MP, the physical part is working, too, means you "feel" the loss of the engine in the flight behaviour. But you can't see it. For some reason, either all props turn in MP, or all stop. (The visible prop that is, that's independent from the physical prop) You can't see nor hear which engine is gone or which is running, and I'm perfectly not sure if I can ever fix that. (Just wanted to inform you what the old lady Battlefield 1942 is capable of ;) )
Cool stuff man. I can't help but think of the possibilities. How about knocking the track off a tank? Mmmmmm Realism.
Possible, but there the disadvantages beat the advantage.
Wow that's some pretty cool stuff, I never would have thought with the ageing Refractor engine. Credit goes out to you guys you amaze me sometimes.
It's really cool. I've had the pleasure of testing it a bit on another plane in the latest internal, and it's a really great feature.
Good luck with trying to fix it, it would be a great addition to the mod.
That is awesome. I say add it to mp even if you can't get the visual effect working.
That looks really cool! I LIKE IT!
Wow, looks great! I like it aswell. Hehe this would be great for FH. :nodding:
How far can something like this go? Control Surfaces? Rudders and screws on ships? Turets, tracks, and Engines on Tanks? Maybe even legs and arms on guys? This is some wicked cool coding just interested to know what some of applications might be for .7
