Oh well. You can't take planes out of a map just because they own.

All in all, what we really need are fighters. Say, an FW-190 for the Germans (A4/A5 I would say), and an La-5 for the Soviets.

I think the bleeidn solution is to stop the heavy tank fest. I'm tired of every map being covered in German heavies that were actually quite rare. Most encounters should be Pz4 or 3, even late war.

Umm, Well guys you realise there a thread called "Overpowered Eleplants" now Im not trying to be smart or nothing but why dont you use these UBER IL2's against these UBER Eleplants it might actionally balance the map. Guys try remember FH Map Balance is not BF42 Map Balance, The Soviets get more planes to cover there poorer tanks, Next time dont be a retard & make a post like this, Think about it. I sure did. :)

This is what normally happens on this map. And this is why the guys in the Elefants usually cry ("Oh my god. I just made it to the front with my Über Elefant and I am shot again by this f*** Über IL2. Dammit, have to wait again 30 secs until I get my new one!" ) winkx.gif . Although with a little bit more teamplay and better use of ground/air vehicles the Elefants would be devastating. Even without Fighters protecting them. ...

I'd tend to agree... It seem like any map beyond 1943 where always fighting the fucking panzer Lehr division or something... since the entire German armored force seems to be made up of heavy tanks and all but invulnerable assault guns.

Anlushac11All 3 variants were used and their is also a torpedo bomber variant of the Il-2.

Theres also the IL2I fighter variant with 2 23mm cannons. The IL2 model might be easy enough to convert to get the IL10 which is the ultimate WW2 ground attack plane for the VVS.

NO it doesnt. KV-85 was not introduced til after Kursk. First models entered service in fall of 1943 in the Ukraine front.

Prokhorovka desperately needs a SU-152 which was one of the leading Soviet tank killers in the battle.

I see your point, but I think the problem is how the Germans had different levels of tanks, and were used according to who they were facing. Hitler delayed the Kursk offensive specifically to get greater numbers of premium armor into action. The Battle of the Bulge was the last major German offensive, and they sent the best equipment they had since it was such an important offensive. Therefore I would expect any map based on Kursk (Prokhorovka) or Ardennes (Bulge, Nordwind) to have lots of German heavies. The Allies basically just had Shermans (or similar) for the most part. Fireflies and Jumbos weren't grouped together like Tigers AFAIK, they were given to tank platoon commanders and such, more evenly distributed. IIRC, in places where they did not expect open field armor battles, like Yugoslavia or Italy, there were very few German heavies compared to Western or Eastern fronts. Wherever the Allies had armored formations, they were all basically the same. I also think it has something to do with scale. IRL, there were probably Tigers present in all these battles, but the fact that there were probably 8-10 lesser tanks for every Tiger meant you would rarely see one. If you put only one Tiger on a map with 3-4 tanks total, you'll see a Tiger much more often. If you look at the desert maps, they have very few Tigers (too many PIVF2's IMO, but without a PZIIIH-J, what else can you do?)

You also need to remember that Elite units were also used in "Firebrigade style".

That meant where teh enemy was in danger of breaking through the Elite units were often shoved in to plug the hole or to reverse the damage done, which they usually did thus earning their elite status and proving why the enemy either feared or respected them and in some cases both.
