Thats one of the reasons I think down the road FH could be better off on the BFV engine. If for nothing else, the flag capping code (more = quicker turn) and the 3D map would be nice so you can shut off enemy tags totally. But, I dont want to start up this whoel conversation again....I know theres a sticky for it

judge reinholdyour signature quote is incredibly butchered. einstein said something along the lines of "i dont know what weapons will be used in ww3, but ww4 will be fought with sticks and stones" why would the next world war be fought with sticks and stones when we have so many neat apaches and f15's?

Maybe because einstein was involved with the development of the first atomic bombs, and he referred to the cold war situation that would develop later.......each side launching it's missiles would not only destroy the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and Russia, it would also hurl so much dust and dirt in the atmosphere no sunlight will get through for years......the well known nucliar winter, the thick atmosfere dust and dirt blanket would cover the entire earth......the extreme sub-zero temperatures and no sunlight will make allmost all living animals and plant die......so so will most humans since there will be no fresh food....canfood only last for so long.....

About the stick and stones : Industry, scientific labs and scientists, oil industry and fuel supply, infrastructure and more inportant powerplants.....all will be gone or taken out after the bang......advanced machinery will be almost useless with no other power then genearators....and these run on fuel wich will quickly be not available anymore. Ammofactories will not work anymore either.....even if some people wanted that, the transport sytem and mines are dead too, no fuel, no workers.....so no raw materials.

When everything left from the pre-bang is used up, and cannot be reproduced the survivors will be fighting each other with sticks and stones and shelter in ruins or if that is too radioactive most likely in caves.....thown back in history for 10.000 years....that is what he meant.

Imagine what you would be able to do as "modern technological advanced" human if thrown on an uninhabited island........if you at all would be capable of surviving from hunting and fishing, you would be nothing more then a caveman.....all the knowledge you have is useless without modern tools and equipment, and you have no knowlegde to built them yourself....ever tried to make a metal bar out of raw iron and coal on a camp fire ? Won't happen :lol:

More OT : removing cappable bases would make basecamping "legal", wouldn't it ? I'm not so sure that is an improvement to gameplay. Bases defentaly would need better defenses like a trench sytem and sunken earth bunkers with field guns in them.......not bases you can just walk in and out like now.

On the subject: It would suffice, in my opinion, if "main" (or currently uncaptureable) bases were altered such that they could be captured, but with a time-to-grey on the order of two or three minutes. It seems to me that if you had to hold the point through several spawn cycles just to get the flag to turn neutral, it would be next to impossible to capture it without teamwork. Of course, I don't know what this would do with respect to spawn camping... perhaps if said bases had widely-dispersed spawn zones--some in protected areas--so that people aren't cut down the instant that they spawn?

Off the subject: I was going to comment on Einstein's quote, had Beast of War not beat me to it, dead on as well.
