About the camo - a few days ago I was questioning a claim by chaplain_DMK that there was a US camo scheme he called "Euro camo". I doubted the US ever had any kind of official camo scheme or policy in Europe. Individual crews might have used camo and may have copied what they saw other tankers use, but it was not because any order had come down from on high. Maybe commanders of small tank units (say, a platoon) might have had a uniform camo scheme, but TMK there was never a broad policy on ETO camo in the US Army. I asked for chaplain_DMK to post anything he had about there being some organized application of a particular US camo, but so far nada.

If I've been wrong all these years in thinking most US tanks in Europe in WWII were plain OD, I'd like to correct it. Anyone have anything about that?

Grendelwolf;4041357Nice model! Did you paint it yourself?

No I'm afraid not. I'm not sure what its official name is so that the best picture I could find.

But logic doesn't apply. We are talking about the people who gave America the Sherman - and then made America keep it long after it was obvious it was hopelessly outmatched. A great tank in Africa, but, as Belton Cooper told us, an absolute deathtrap in Europe.

But you've given me enough that I can at least accept there was an official camo scheme in NA. Was there one in Europe?

Well, no, the US army isn't in the mod, so why would the Garand be?

yea there was, u can c the deep green camo evreywhere, its the same as the one in the pacific and it wasnt anybodys fault that the sherman remained in service for so long, the allies needed lots and lots of tanks in normandy, and they couldnt switch production to the pershing untill 1945 when most german tanks hit the bucket... probably if the pershing was desined in 1942 instead of 1943 it would probably b the main tank of the US army in normandy, and if the dumb tommies would get it together bout their tanks and designed the awsome Centurion in 1942 wed be seeing a different story here... a recap Soviets best tank- IS2 (real monster of a tank) US Best tank- M26 Pershing UKs best tank- Centurion (the best one) The problem is that all of these tanks came to late te prevent the massive tank losses the allies recived because of the germans 3rd generation tanks armed wit the 88s :(
