dont tell me Im wrong! dude, I made a map with 2000m viewdistance! I worked on it for months, trust me I know what Im talking about. the objects in zitadelle map must have had this fixed, or were simply not used.

However, my Geforce 2 MX/MX400 doesn't.

Ahaha, so few words, so much wisdom! I have a Ti4200, and it would also definetely not agree.

D-FensMaps with planes and naval battles need long view distance, Midway is a good example of too short viewdistance, the ships just suddenly appear, wich works with vanilla vehicle handling but not with Fhs more realistic turn radius's.

Kind of off-topic but I don't get why the ships are able to hit themselves :mad:

it couldnt lag that bad on midway, because wat, 80% - 90% of it is water...

XWWII probably has lower-poly statics in the mod. and maybe even, special "really low poly statics" just for that map.. Zitidel with extra longdistance LOD setting for those objects.. im just guessing here...

but even vanilla maps lag at about 800m-1000m viewdistances (ya ive experimented lots with maps) :) and fh maps are far more intense, than any vanilla map.

besides my comp is 4 yrs old.. and i play many FH maps at 50-80% viewdistance, or im just lagged. and i rarely get shot from somewhere beyond my settings.... why? because you cant see past the next hedgerow on most maps, anyway.

infact i can still see almost right across the whole map, in most of the smaller maps. and find the lower lag helps me more, than lower viewdistance hurts..

i can own the ppsh guy with a rifle or pistol, if im not lagged :)

i can play all maps at 100% if the number of players isnt over 32 beyond that, i start to lag on the laggier maps..

i always play at 640x480, lowest graphics and sound because.. i would just be a big bullseye, otherwise... lol

Definitely in favour of removing fog. It will total my FPS on some of my machines but it will be worth it.

The models of tanks at long distance is quite good I think but one must bear in mind the draw distance of trees to stop KTs and Panthers from dominating the battlefield from a cozy corner.

@ the 14yo whos getting a new computer. congratulations. your parents are buying u a computer. but what i said was i was saving up for mine by my self with my money. its alot more rewarding when u finally get what uve been saving up for after 2years than it is just bugging your parents for a new pc. surprisingly enough, i feel that i am alot better at managing money and not wasting it on things that i dont need (ie a bag of chips each day at the school canteen). saving money 4 what u really want is a great way to learn money managing.
