Solo4114Do people on other servers really take Axis tanks and basecamp the allies? Given how many tanks the Allies get, that would seem suicidal to me, and would also open up a big hole in the Axis defense.

Considering that Panther vs T34 doesn't even compare, it's anything but suicidal. There is no "hole" in the axis defense line, cause every axis gets a panzerfaust. And people simply bail from the Stuka to steal a Russian tank, then blow up the other spawned tanks and voila: they are literally invincible. Couple it with most servers not having a proper gamestart delay, and fastloading cheaters using the full advantage of the unfair benefit they receive, and allies got no tanks before they even spawn. Now, i am not saying this is indicative of how the game plays on other servers, but the simple fact that a stolen T34 can be invincible means there is something really wrong. Also, i really don't want this to turn into "basecamp good/basecamp bad" discussion, but there are heaps of servers that, allow attacking main flag if all other flags are taken.... which holds true at the beginning of this map. A bazooka pickup kit in the main would be great. I could defend the main with it, or take my chances walking along the clear open plain accross the map to city flags, and help my team deal with axis tanks there

When exactly does the panther spawn? Yesterday, I saw two PzIVg and one Stug IIIg. I saw the Stuka, but never saw anything else.

Admittedly, the Axis do have the ability to kill pretty much indiscriminately, what with the satchels and fausts available (even if it is just the faust30), but I never saw the Panther.

I usually see them stealing Allied tanks and basecamping -- if it's only 1 guy spawn camping, you've got a chance to kill him since the russian tanks spawn at different points -- but if you get a couple of guys sitting at the different spawn spots in the base in captured T-34's then it's a hassle because they just blow up tanks and planes 1 by 1 as they respawn.

@ [SYN] hydraSlav I actually think you are way out of line here.... this map has always been an easy win for the allied team and as ArminAce says its all about getting pass the 88:s. I believe that I have played "The Storm" probably 20 times and axis has won 4 or 5 times. The new map is much better balanced, having played it 2 times (1 win for allied 1 win for axis) I enjoy it alot more. @ [SYN] Ace If basecamping in allied mainbase is a problem for you maybe you should play on a server that actually has rules.....

And since Axis get all flags from beginning they have the full right to basecamp even with these "rules". Besides, you can't tune a map to one server's rules :rolleyes: Back on topic, i don't argue that a map could have needed some balancing (although i liked to play Axis on this map for the challenge of keeping the flags from being taken). However, there have been many other changes that balanced it. And there was absolutelly no need to take out AT class for Allies. And especially, there is absolutelly no reason why Allies have no defences in their base, nor any spawnable AT. Taking out AT accomplished nothing in terms of balancing As i said before, there were heaps of way to balance it: [quote=hydraSlav]0.67 was PPSh whoring? Take out PPSh or make them pickup kits. I play on Dead Meat and their rules allow base camping. Not normally a problem for me -- I see a base camper as a challenge. It's just aggravating on this map when I can't do anything about it.

Through all this complaining about this map, I have NEVER seen the Germans win it. EVER. The Russians always get a flag, then start spawing as PPsh infantry, versus the germans who are all panzerfaust to fend off T-34s. So I totally disagree with the fact that it is unbalanced to the German side. If you get compatant AT on the front line it helps but eventually its not enough. Just my thoughts..
