After playing Merciless 42 for the first time yesterday I realised that wuite a few of the weapon sounds in FH are the exact same sounds in Merciless. These weapons are the DP, StG 44, Thompson, BAR 1918, Colt, Walther P38, MP18, MP40, Bazooka, Panzershreck and the Type 99. I was just wondering if Merciless took these sounds from FH or if FH took these sounds from Merciless. I also noticed that the sound of the Colt and the Walther P38 are used in BF1918 as well.

Merciless creations worked with the FH team under the development of 0.6.
Ah, I see, thanks.
Or maybe the Merciless patch did not overwrite any of those weapon sounds..?

Yeah, why does everyone tries to blame FH first.... :deal:
Yea the departure of meciless was quite known,............... this is like this 1000th time someone accused fh of stealing. Kind of annoying, like this post.
They are the same sounds cause Merciless put them there on version 0.5 onwards, since Merciless merged with FH some time ago. After Merciless abandoned the merger, their stuff stayed on FH. All the Merciless stuff from that time should be there until the devs decide to replace them for better sounds, if they come up, i guess.
Not my fault I only started playing FH after 0.61 came out.

I think he was seeking some clarification rather than accusing anyone of stealing. "Ah, I see, thanks." was his response to "Merciless creations worked with the FH team under the development of 0.6." No harm done really.
I don't understand all these weapons sounds problems. Like when people say that the Thompson sounds the same in this game or that mod. Is that a bad thing?
Shouldn't a gun sound like it should in every game, every mod? I mean there should be one sound, that's it, across the board. Why is there different sounds? Is it due to the recording process used to tape the weapon firing or do video game devs just kind of craft the sound artificially?
