Offcourse the aspect ratio has to changed when you use 1280x1024, but I use it as it is the highest aveilable resolution on my 19" TFT screen.

As I do have a pretty good computer, I wont use a smaller 1024x768 just to get the correct aspect ratio.

It's up to you and all people using WRONG proportions to play with a deformed rendering then... For all others who might use a wrong resolution without knowing it is, here is an example of how it affects proportion in COD2 (click on these big thumbnails). It's exactly the same scene in 4:3 (1024*768) 7331f811778bdb986ccaae01769bt2.jpg

and in 5:4 (1280*1024) b6216d5b86b1516da50a78b335aet2.jpg

You can clearly see the circle is not "round", at the lower left corner of the screen.

1024x768 highest this monitor can do with 85Hz, and 75/60Hz is not nice.. It also seemed to scretch oddly when putting it bit higher..

@Threepwood:

So? Altough its a little bit stretched, but it doesnt affect the game as far as I concern. Its still higher res, which I would say counts higher on new games.

@ Threepwood I had to stare at both for a minute before i saw how it was "clearly stretched". Who cares, I don't see a real difference between both so just run the res. your accustomed too (and that your computer can handle ingame).

anyways I use 1280*1024 after I tweaked up my video card and experimented with different stuff. The 1024*768 seems way to big now and unclear now.

Better late than never :D

My desktop resolution is 1600x1200 and that's what i play at. However, i never had the browser opened at that size (well, i did once, and immidiatelly resized it).

The browser window is sized at about 1280x1024
