As the title suggests I don't understand the title of this mod. Forgotten Hope, I think it means something like soldiers on the front have forgotten that there's hope. Anyway, does anyone know?

Actually, FH was once upon a time only going to focus on the early war battles and the days of the mighty German Blitzkreig. At that time when Allied armies were falling, it was a time of Forgotten Hope, or something like that...

Just kind of a generic title, really. Sounds kind of mysterious, like a good movie. It doesn't really relate to the content, but so what? After all, Red Orchestra doesn't have you fighting with Oboes and Clarinets, nor is BattleGroup 1942 a newsgroup from the early days of HTML.yeltongue.gif

Actually i think it has alot to do with the mod, after all it is basically a reiteration of what actually happened.

On certain maps you'll see some vicious hand to hand piccolo action.

The devs have explained even themselfs that Forgotten Hope was originally aimed to be a mod about the struggle of the small nations against the German Blitzkrieg when all hope was forgotten. However they decided to take a turn pretty much to the opposite direction in the development. Well, I guess it sort of relates to all hope being forgotten for the Germans, as most of the maps are post-D-Day.

Forgotten hope is a really good name:

1939-1941 = East/Central Europe countries that failed their defensive had to accept German dictature and the dunkirk evacuation was an expresion of "fallen hope" 1943-45 = When the invasions, ofensivies started, it can be used as a term pf the "Hope that we forgot, but it came back to us"

ok, i'm talkin shit :)

Better "Forgotten Hope" than "Virtual Front Battles of The Second World War"

It was either "forgotten hope" or: "colonel clunk's crazy adventures in ww2 land"
