Probably, no, hopefully just a typo. The M1 is not as good as the Garand in some respects, better in others. It has no where near the range, accuracy, or stopping power. But then again, it is much smaller.

But I would take a Thompson over it any day.

Silly thing is that I cant seem to get over 11 kills in a normal ticket game with a semi-auto, but as soon I get my bolt-action, there im in business. TOUGH I largely like more svt40 on Mosin and Garand on Springfield. I hate these guns!

these were my 2 cents not very usefull but still... still remembering the day I shot a smoking plane and killed it with my ye old k98(it was already smoking)

pesci_fanFrankly the bolt-action in this game is the same as the semi-auto, but don't think the germans used the G43 like a trophy, alot were issued, frankly on the Eastern Front. The Germans used the SVT-40, cause it was better. I will always be a bolt-man, but I agree, we need some classes with semi's its not realistic, maybe you can have like 12 spawn at HQ for ppl to pick up.....No wait that will just start n00bs to tk. Just make it a class

Uh, the G43 was engineered from captured SVT40s. G43 was the "better" gun.

And yes, I would also like to see some more semi-auto action. Randomize assault kits to give bolt action or semi auto. And for the love of Pete please give the infantry some more ammo. 40 rounds is not enough, realistically or gameplay-wise. Same with snipers.

SVT 40 should be common as dirt. The Soviets were the first army to use Semi Autos and they were very common.

Gawd, please don't do this. When I choose a kit that is supposed to get a k98, I had damn well better get a k98. I do horribly with the semi-autos.

How many stripper clips did soldiers normally carry? I wouldn't think more than ten or so, but I could be wrong.

For snipers, I agree. Their ammo supply is a joke, especially with the semi-auto sniper rifles with which one is more likely to waste ammo.

ok and we should include weapon jams for it. the SVT40 was very unreliable. :)

The ammo for riflemen in FH is about half of what they were issued. Which is odd because automatic weapons get accurate loadouts.

Early war British - 5 clips, 10 clips by 1944 (100 rounds)

US Springfield - 20 clips (100)

US Garand - 10-16 clips (80-128)

German K98k - 12 clips (60)

German G43 - 6(?) magazines (60)

Soviet Mosin/Nagant - 6-14 clips (30-70)

Japanese Arisaka - 12 clips (60)

These numbers are all based on the capacity of the bandoliers/pouches/etc...

SVT 40 should be common as dirt. The Soviets were the first army to use Semi Autos and they were very common.

The US was the first country to adopt a semi-auto rifle. That was the Garand in 1936. The SVT40 wasn't very common on the battlefield, though it shoud've been. It was too complicated for the average and poorly trained Soviet infantryman, which is why it was considered unreliable. The US, on the other hand, built their infantry doctrine around the widespread use of the Garand and trained their soldiers accordingly.
