just read the topic because that's all i know, can anyone explain.... is a a tournament or whatever cause im really confused because ive heard it many times before....
Battle for Europe:World at War is a big world-wide tournament using the FH mod to fight out territorial battles for territories. Currently utilising four divisions, two Allied and two Axis, it's about to kick off it's 9th campaign. For the Allies we have the 34th Soviet Guards Division and the 36th Ghurka Rifles, for the Axis we have the 33rd Italians & the 35th Imperial Japanese Division. The CinCs of each side place attack bids for territories depending on who has the attack initiative and these moves are fought out in FH battles twice a week. The campaign lasts 12 weeks in total, and is free to signup for a random army. If you wish to choose sides (axis or allies) then there is a $10 administrative fee. Check out http://bf1942.battleforeurope.com/ for more information :)
so you play map by map and whoever wins that map goes on?
Take for example our first coming week. The Allies are attacking Denmark with their first Division, and on Thursday a battle will be fought out on the appropriate map. Whichever side wins, the following week that side gets to place their next attack move. Say if the Allies win, on the 2nd attack they need a higher percentage of rounds to maintain the initiative.
It's a bit like the RISK boardgame in that you move armies onto territories (each territory is a different map) and then whoever wins can move onto another territory, except that instead of throwing dice you play 12 hour FH battles.
Gurkha all the way!!!!!!:stallard:
Hell NO....I'l stick with the Italians:)
