Basically this is another stupid idea. Duhhh... Fog means Tigers can't shoot as far as is realistic, so let's break away from realism in another area in a misguided attempt to balance it out. Duhhh.....
As the devs have already explained the traverse is 6x faster than actual data. To that extent the Tiger is fine as the player is meant to fight the vehicle as it was, to my mind they have done a good job.
I have contacted Bovington (David Fletcher) concerning this who initially responded with a chuckle and "Tell your friend he is mistaken".
Meh doesn't matter about the speed of turret rotation... The idea is you don't even turn the Turret more than 45 degrees either way most times. Drive it like a man... Drive it like a Stug
Beast, sorry to fall into your back, but I have read a combat report about a Tiger unit in Italy that lost 3 or 4 Tigers due to mechanical breakdowns while towing broken Tigers...
is it possible to code mechanical faults on heavy tanks for the sake of realism and balance. it would be cool.
Beast of WarProbably hurts your brains right ?
Yes, it has something to do with ( Tiger ) turret rotating speed and FH. Exactly what depends if i or someone else can prove how exactly the turrets of Tigers and King Tigers were driven.
Or are you trying to say that Tiger turret compared to other tanks works quitte ok ?
i asked my history teacher before about this. all i can remember was that my teacher said that during WWII many new inventions were put on tanks for the first time. he refered to a motorized engine to turn the turret. this however had its cons because the motors were slow. compare a tiger turret to a sherman turret. the shermans turret was hand cranked and therefore it was faster and more reliable. i dont know about the kt though.
Well, my sources state that the Shermans turret was powered, safe the 105mm version. It has a nominal rotation rate of 36°/seconds, and I really don't see how you'd do that to a multipe t object by hand.

6 x as fast as 60 seconds to rotate 360 º not 6 x 25 seconds to rotate 360 º or a value in between of that.
Besides that all tanks turrets will be accelerated, i can't believe a Sherman turret rotated that fast as in FH.......
But if the devs not feel like re-checking the Tiger code, then it is fine with me, it is not a thing i am really upset about like what happend to the FH 0.6 flight code or anything that serious :)
[QUOTE=FryaDuck]I have contacted Bovington (David Fletcher) concerning this who initially responded with a chuckle and "Tell your friend he is mistaken"
Would the guys at Bovington have the guts to rev the a delicate historic engine above even 2000 RPM ? Let alone the critical 3000 RPM even the real Tiger crews were only allowed to use in emergencies and risk destroying it ?
My bet is no............and since hydraulic pumps really do deliver more pressure with more engine revs.....
Question... when the Tiger's brewing [and the turret speed is much reduced] is that the accurate speed of the turret?
Is there any Tiger crews alive today that one might be able to ask about this? Or perhaps Beast would think they also used their Tiger wrongly if they answered incorrect.
FF|cihsetIs there any Tiger crews alive today that one might be able to ask about this? Or perhaps Beast would think they also used their Tiger wrongly if they answered incorrect.
No i would accept the comment of members of a real Tiger crew..... downloading documentaries of Discovery Channel on the subject right now....with survivng members of Tiger crews.....it's just FryaDuck as the spokesman i do not believe.....he wants me to be wrong too bad, some of his previous posts are downright hostile for no reason at all, and that is indication enough he will say anything, just to "prove" me wrong......
Hydraulic technology physics are against him.....and once i have the right Documentary, i will see who is wrong. If i am, i will admit it.....wonder if FryaDuck would though.....
