Germany was always short of tanks and other equipment, and used many captured weapons and vehicles. There are some examples in FH: 125%20-%20t34_747r.jpgbig.jpg

Didn't stop at armor either. Germans used PPSh41s, rechambered in 9mm, the same ammo used in the MP40 and Walther P38.

Germans also salvaged enemy aircraft and pressed them into service, for either combat or testing. I know that B-17s and B-24s that the Germans got in working order would fly up to bomber formations, pretending to be stragglers, and get speed and altitude information for the flak crews below. I also know of one P-38 that the Germans captured and put into Luftwaffe service.

German using an MP-717(r), or the PPSh41. Note he has an MP40 slung on his back. Says volumes about which gun was preferred!

Captured Su-85 tank destroyer.

It works like this:

(b) - Belgium (f) - France (e) - UK (p) - Poland (t) - (t)Czechoslovakia (a) - American (r) - Russia

Examples:

Germans had a lot of captured Russian AT field guns and renamed them PaK36(r). I believe their Russian designation is M-36.2732.jpg

They used captured Russian 75mm AT guns on the Panzer II chassis to create the Sd.Kfz.131 Marder II.
