Freshman Year of college, late 2003 I had introduced my buddy Irish to Halflife and the concept of mods... he had BF1942 and tried to get me into it but I got bored and annoyed with vanilla fairly quickly... trying to get me to like the game he looked up mods for BF and showed me the FH site...

He was still new to mods and did not really know how to get it himself but after about a week of convincing i finally downloaded it. It was sooo much better than vanilla I was very impressed. His laptop could barely run vanilla and we only had 1 cd key so we really could only take turns playing but we were hooked.... for the next 3 years FH was like crack, we were consumed.... both of us are still in college lol :lookaround:   :beer:Hopefully I can graduate before FH2 comes out

I was hooked on the BF MP demo as soon as it was released, playing it until I got the full game for Christmas 2002. Then I obviously played the game as much as I could for months, but I eventually started to search for mods. The first ones I played were very simple, I can't even remember the names of those, but the first major mod I found and liked was BG42 (was 0.2 their first release?), which I IIRC found through a bf forum I joined in March 2003. The same forum had a FH section through which I think I got the information of the release of 0.5, although I already long before had jumped into the website of this fantastic mod about early WW2 I had lost faith in it ever being released and mostly forgotten about it. Despite the bugs I absolutely loved FH the moment I first played it, joined these official FH forums when I finally found them, and as the mod painstakingly slowly improved I kept playing both with and without bots although the time I could use for playing kept diminishing. Finally I mysteriously lost my BF1942 discs and the CD-key with them this spring, and thus haven't been able to play FH since. :(

I saw a friend of my brother's play BF and saw it was just the game I needed but only managed to get it about a year after. I then learned to play with patches and I found the filefront BFfiles. I registered and lurked around and saw FH in the news updates and it looked like an improvement of "just the game I needed" so I dled it. Must've been the 0.6 one I think. I tried the other mods (XWW2 and Battlegroup) but I thought FH was better and sticked to it. Simple story. ;)

Many many many moons ago in the age of immortals (Armin Ace, Lobo, Major Hartman, Neko Reaperman, KillorLive, etc...) I was playing BF1942 Wake Demo and said in game chat that this game rocked but it would be even better if it was more realistic. Someone suggested that I look into FH mod and I went ot the forum and have been a groupie ever since following the mod from forum server to forum server til we arrived here.

I used to be in 11PzG clan with Matyast and MG42 and was a FH beta tester and then a mod member til PC died, then got job, started working overtime and had to quit mod and clan for lack of free time.

I played FH as Bonta Kun.

Im actually posting this from work now.

I got into FH when some Irishman contacted my friend Ramser on Gamespy about some schmucky kraut 130th Panzer Divsion, when we were looking for another schmucky kraut clan, the 21st Panzer. Being young and full of abandon we followed this drunken wall fucker into history. I learned to smash the weak Allied cowards with our armor and joined the Panzer Battalion. A year later I was in charge of the clan. That was a long time ago now it seems. How I miss the old threads too: Nerf this tank! Nerf that tank! Nerf bunnyhoppers! What no update in 2 weeks, WTF?! Where's the Panzer III?! Love ya Eberhardt! Oberst Zehnder Headquarters 130th Panzer Lehr Division
