I loved fh for 42 and I'll finally be buying a new computer in September that can play resent games and was wondering if FH2 will out by when, or I can hold off on BF2 for a while? Because vanila BF2 doesn't seem like it's really worth playing.

Sigh, don't be offended, but this is no different from the posts that say: When should I buy a new computer to play FH2? When should I upgrade my video card to play FH2? I have build a doomsday devise which will hurl the earth towards the sun, but I want to play FH2 first, when should I start the final countdown? They are all different ways to ask when will FH2 come out. Believe me, if there were a way to get the devs to commit to a date, ONE of us would have come up with it by now. As for a serious answer to your question, BF2 is pretty old now, it is probably as cheap as it is ever going to get. However, we assume the devs will announce the release of FH2 about a week or two in advance. So its up to you, buy it now, or watch the FH2 updates for news of the release, and buy it then. It probably won't make a difference cost wise. However, if you do buy BF2 before FH2 comes out, just register yourself a cool game name, but don't play it.
You might as well give BF2 a shot, it certainly is worth playing and a lot of fun, despite what some people may tell you. Besides, even though FH2 will be very, very different in feel the engine is the same and thus a lot of functions and commands will be the same as well.
buy it now so you can get a feel for the BF2 engine in general, but i must warn you, BF2 is extremely hard to run good unless you got a great graphics card/ processor
buy now, as kenny said. Get it now to familiarise yourself with the game and see how it runs on your rig.
Actually all new mid range graphics cards of today can run BF2 on all highest setting fine, what matters more is the cpu and ram, i would suggest getting 2gb+ and cpu 2.4ghz+.
I upgraded to 3 gigs ram and it made a huge difference running BF2 or its mods. So dont scrimp on ram, you cant have to much!
Get it while you can... :p
I wont be able to get a new laptop computer until september so I wont be buying bf2 until when at least, my curent laptop can barly run battlefield 1942, any way one I'm buying will have a 2.2ghz processer, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, and 2gb ram, I'd like to get 4gb memery but the extra 850 dollars is a bit high. Actauly I'm really forward to being able to play Rome: total war and Medievil II: total war, I doubt I would have much interest in playing vanile BF2 for a while given that fact I'll have those 2 games.
