Despite the hype that the 88 produces, its useless. There should be 2 88 trucks on every Desert map, yet we dont get none. What ever happened to Rommel... ROMMEL!!!! That nazi bastard who used those things to kill Matildas like I did on Blitzkrieg!

Rommel wa a genious using them ,thou he wasnt a nazi he knew nothing about what they were doing for ages then had to commit suicide cause hitler made him.
hitler made him do other things too..... if ya know what i mean ;)
no we don't know what you mean. tell us.
Rommel was not a fan of the Nazi's but was a classic Prussian trianed Officer. He obeyed Hitler for the most but would also often do what was best for his men. Rommel was the reason why their were no S.S. combat troops in North Africa. Rommel actively worked to keep the S.S. out of North Africa.
The conspirators to kill Hitler approached Rommel and asked him to join them, Rommel refused but also did not report them. That was his mistake.
When the bomb plot failed many of the conspirators were captured by the Gestapo and tortured. Rommel was implicated and was given the choice of a public trial of suicide. He chose suicide.
Don't mean to sound like a idiot, but when I was playin fhx on battleaxe blowin up stuff with the 88 that spawns at the center base and every time I fired I heard that sound it makes when ur hit or wounded. The only thing it wasn't hurting me. I mean the thing was deployed completely, but there was a bot in the driver's place spinnin the tracks(wasnt goin newhere of course). Was the shooting somehow hurting him? Why would it do that?

Wasn't it even that he would have tried to achieve a seperate cease-of-arms with Eisenhower once Hitler would have been dead?
As far as I know about Rommel's relations to the conspirators, he never really turned them down but also never really joined them. But quite a lot of the higher ranking officers on the western front were split-minded, so to speak.
I believe it was General Major (?) Günther von Kluge - not exactly a real Nazi, but not that far away from it; he was Rommels successor-in-position on the western front, IIRC - who said that Hitler, "das Schwein - the bastard" would need to be killed. Well, now guess what he did? Yep, he also tried to enlengthen the fighting on the western front as long as possible.
So this sort of schizophrenia (knowing the war is lost, but doing anything to make it last another day) seemed to be rather common...

Go to the driving seat and press up-arrow or down-arrow and it deploys it.

Yeah well when the choice for hitler is keep on fighting till the bitter end or unconditional surrender, most of your dictator types will fight it out. And don't forget the real war was in the east. He just drip feed the west, the east, that fight could only end with the complete distruction of one side.
