Ever heard something from some game or movie of sort and just felt - YES, that's how it ought to sound...
Same goes for everything in FH right... True, an MP44 or STG44 would always sound slightly high-pitched and scary... But some games/ movies do it better than others - So... I don't know your list... But here's mine
Sound - Should sound like a) All distant sounds - FH1 b) Distant explosions - FHSW c) M1 Garand - Letters from Iwojima's d) Thompson SPR, same as FH vanilla e) PZIII cannon FH1 f) British 6pounder FHSW g) Bullet Whizz sounds Band of Brothers, FHSW h) Shell whizz sound FHSW i) STG44 FHSW/ BIA j) Sherman Mg Band of Brothers h) US APC FHSW i) Springfield if nothing better, FHSW j) Any car's engine i.e Not fron FH2... Maybe FH1's Kubelwagon, Jeep etc k) No2 pistol FH1 l) British plane mgs Pearl Harbor j)Dive horn Anywhere else?
Much else, I love already - Just give them more 'beef' (Metallic, louder)and they'd be perfect
Visibly, ie Special effects 1) Effect of a landmine on a tank SPR (less fire, more debris and dust) 2) A tank killed by another Seen that video of the Panther at Cologn on youtube, or COD2 (with fire around the turret etc) 3) A grenade explosion 4) Airplane bomb explosion Letters from Iwo jima (smaller blast radius, but kills well enough) 5) Effect of Airplane mg Pearl Harbor (high bursts of earth) 6) Effect of a tank shell in the Band of Brothers, Company of Heroes earth

The tank explosions are great in FH2, sometimes. Because other times your tank is all of the sudden just a black wreck without much sound or visuals as it happend.
I wonder if using movie/TV sounds would be accurate enough. After all, movies use blank rounds. I can count on one hand how many times I've fired live rounds, so I couldn't tell the difference anyway.

Sounds are a tough part. First, there are very many variables to the sound, such as where you are shooting them (inside, outside, mountains, fields). Then there's the thing that no microphone can capture 100% what your ear would hear, therefor most youtube videos of them are pretty distorted. Most movies use blanks indeed, but I wouldn't be surprised if higher budget movies use foley effects for the sounds, or in some cases even real bullets. Best possible way to do it would be to buy our sound artist all the different guns, but I don't think we have the resources for that.
Didn't a dev told us alot of sounds where re-done for the patch. And since Brattwurst is a dev now it will be even better :)
I just hope he doesn't do a total over-haul. Don't get me wrong, I love FH0.7 specifically for the sound patch, but I had mixed-feelings about his patch for FH2. Loved the shell-discharge in tanks, hated the rifle and smg sounds...
Some Fh2 sounds are excellent, some just need beefing-up, only a few (such as airplane engines etc) are actually terrible... It requires a balance to change stuff there without losing something truly good.
One thing I would say for Fh2 versus 1 is, the sounds, although not as solid do have a more real-life feel to them. In Fh42, you kinda hear what you would want to if playing SPR, in FH2, you kinda hear what you should... If under water
sounds are for me the less important feature of a game, specially for forgotten hope. I don't care if one model has a better sound like game XYZ than the current one in FH2. I just want a good playable game to enjoy when I'm playing it, and if possible good sounds, but at last (ofc more is better than less, but taking so much time for one mod release you should priorize)
