Because i am so often shot right through fog, and i can't see the opponent, i went on a little search how come.... and i don't believe the other guy has more skills, because i can't fire on what i can't see, and that goes for him too !
What i found was bf1942 is so easily customizable, you don't need a "hack" or tool to customize graphic settings...... these are the results :
Note that i am always standing in the same place, on the gridline at the end of the runway.
Normal, primairy view
Normal, secondary view
Normal, primairy view ( damn you all that used this all along !! ) max view distance and minimum texture and polygon decay over distance....you can almost see the markings on the vehicles, where in te first picture only the HE 111 was even visible !!!
Is this "devious cheat" without penalties ? No.....
If you set viewdistance closer, you suffer from "tunnelvision" wich means your vison becomes much more narrow to the sides....you won't be able to see players coming from the sides that someone with default settings would.....fatal in streetcombat.
On the other hand, in streetcombat you can set viewdistance higher aswell, wich means you can look wider around you while looking foreward, but you will have limited distance view ( can't see players in the fog )
than - go and tell EVERYONE how to do it, or better delete this post - i was wondering long how it is possible that someone can kill me from almost el al desert width while i cant see even his muzzle flash..
so what is the trick?
I think the trick involves, like Beast said, tuning down your graphics and stuff, although i don't know excactly which ones.. Perhaps it has something to do with the seeing limit.. Anyways, i hope this will be fixed soon then, since probably everyone will want to try this trick out, making the game soon unplayable ,because of long distance sharp shooters
No Polska....it involves not using the in-game menu to set the bf1942 graphic settings, but set it manually.
No hacks, cheats or tools or whatever involved.....just setting the game to your personal preference.... that was the explanation that came with it.....
Well all i can say is that the guy who uses that " tecnique " is just lame and don't know how too play; Who wants to play with low graphs anyway !!!
these screens dont show low graphics - ground texture is the same as on the top screen.. so i think it is not low graphicsi cant tell other textures but these also looks like normal [ie. highest]

I didn't set my system lower the 100 % in then in-game menu
People with low or medium end systems can't do this...it is murder on their already low FPS....
And there is the "tunnelvision" problem.....they may be able to see through fog ( only some distance further, nothing very dramatic ) but they are also blind as a bat to the sides in close quarters street combat.
( look how much of the mountain you can see in the 3rd pic....tunnelvision )
Unless they run around in external view. I would consider this a game hack and would be deemed illegal on some servers as cheating. But not much you can do about it that I am aware of.

It isn't a hack, i told you.....
This is just customizing bf1942 to your personal preferences...just like with the in-game menu slider bars ....only manually, it has some more options ( the options are offered by the default game )
These instruction come from a normal, long forgotten page that explains how you can get the best performance out of bf1942 on your low, medium or high end system......not some hacking/cheating site.....
The "unfairness" of it all is only those with high end systems can afford more demanding settings, wich make distant targets crispier and better visible....if you call that a "hack" then a monitor with the lowest dotpitch or most pixels per cm is hacking too.....
you should have posted a fourth picture with secondary view again if so, from a distance you'll always use secondary view so the 'cheat' isnt really much to get angry about always the lame excuses.....
