Hey Fellas, I have been playing POE 2 ever since it's release and I believe we agree that their work is top notch.

There is however one part of their mod that I hope works it's way into FH2. The way their arty vehicles work is just simply brilliant. When you shoot an artillery piece the camera actually follows the projectile. Which means the person who wants to be artillery is not at the mercy of some guy calling in arty strikes that really never come.

Artillery is so important in game matches and the ability for users to take it upon themselves without needing a call is the right way to go.

So will FH2 have such a system or one even better?

I must have started playing BF1942 too early cause I've never had any problems with 42's arty system, and in fact find it pretty easy to use.

FH2 has a custom system, very WW2ish, and it needs the teamwork of a gunner and a spotter, like in BF42

you know what sounds kool 2?the way the long range morter tanks in dc shoot shells, the camera goes to a still cam over the base that is fired upon.every time u fire a shell the cam changes back and forth from you shooting then to the opposing base.that would be kool if a simmilar system were incorporated in fh2.

So were are right back to the same problem we went through in '42 where no one would spot for the guy sitting way in the back in an artillery piece. I have yet to go to one server since 1942 was released when people would actively go out and get targets for artillery. Even at East Coast Gaming (where arguably they ran that server with an iron fist) would still kick snipers for not calling the calls in.

I thought POE 2 did a marvelous job with solving the whole issue. Once you fired the shell a camera would follow the shell until it landed. So a person jumping into an arty could do the job without having to beg the vast hordes of selfish people who cannot do something as easy as making an arty call to get the job done.

Here is a Youtube video showing it.

In FH1 people spots artillery.

Yes, we know the PoE system, and no, we will not use it. We have developed our own system. Yes, you will need spotters but this is what FH is about, teamplay, shout some military macho cursing till you get a spotter

PoE2 is made-up conflict based on a game about a made-up conflict, so ofcourse they have made up-weapons.. why those should be put into a mod that is simulating real events and is (supposed to) focus on making players cooperate, I simply fail to see the point in that..
