yea AFAIK otherwise there will be some shadows left of the things that was removed ... Hartmann said so IIRC ..

They have to redo the textures for the entire level to remove two objects? I cannot even fathom such a ridiculous notion.

No they don't. It's very simple to go in and delete two objects from the objects cache and remove them from the map. And with the lightmaps, it takes maybe 10 minutes maximum to create them. Boo hoo. There is really no good reason for them not improving that map by removing the "industry center" other than they seem to just not ant to.

The most realistic option I can take while not getting too involved would be to remove the defguns, keep the bunkers, and move the defguns/coastal guns into the "Omaha" slit bunkers. The japanese kept as much as they could underground or concealed.

Removing statics is not a problem, you just also have to remove the shadows, which requires touching up a section (not all) of the terrain textures. That is rather easy to do.

However, the factory et al will stay because it takes the spare time I have from remaking Midway, Tobruk, Iwo Jima (yes, the "real" Mt. Suribachi), and dressing up Guadalcanal. Obviously this is a lot of work and these are maps we are all 'experts' on, so I'll need to do them some justice. Now remember, these are all works-in-progress and may or may not find their way into FH.

The Ohka will stay simply because no other map exists in 1945. Otherwise the Ohka would be dead-weight in the mod, and I'm not willing to do that to the person who put good work into making it.

As a mapper, I can appreciate the inaccuracies you guys find with our mod.

Ah, and there were subs on patrol at Wake that did see some action. However, if its such a great thorn in the side, I can get rid of it.

Yeah, those things are next to invincible. It requires a direct couple of bombs, 280mm Ship shell, or about 40 Sherman rounds to kill one, which is ridiculous. Put those appropriate naval defence guns like on Tarawa in their place and I wont have a problem.

But Dime, if you could just take away those def guns in the pacific maps and replace them that would be excellent since as the other guy said, those def guns take alot of shots even from tanks to destroy
