nothing like d-day thats been done to death.

i mean like since its the african campaign first and there are naval ships why not an attack the naval fortification type senario? like some big important port built into the cliff face bristling with cannons that has to be assulted by sea?

i dunno it just would be cool instead of the normal 'flat' battles where everything is pretty much in your sight bar a slight hill.

running up/down steep mountain slopes that led to a secret path into the german port would be cool.

maybe even stick like a destroyable objective? similar to the poe2 nuke but maybe just one really big rail cannon, (non-useable) on top of a cliff near the base?

it would just be so cool to fight on different elevations,

that's not impossible at all i think...for example the british need to destroy some jerry naval gun battery which is blocking Royal Navy's acsess to someplace...it could be perfect SAS type mission (similar to CODUO Sicily mission):nodding:

Well what I have allways thought about as a cool map idea, a defence of a medieval castle/fortress. I mean there are plenty of those around Europe and even by modern standards, some of them are placed in strategical positions. Surely someone somewhere ended up defending one of those, anyone heard of somethig similar?

I don't know about any castles, but they could make a Monte Cassino map eventually, with the actual monastery, as with all the rubble and alcoves, would be very nice. Up the hill, and into the monastery. That is, if they make an Italian Theatre.

I hope they will, imagine that operation Husky in FH2...man that would be too great. About that castle or fortress thing check this out http://www.battleforeurope.com/showthread.php?t=11617 I like this idea because I'm an Estonian myself also i have been thinking about some battle of Narva river map:) :tank:

If they were to make a fortification map, I reckon it should be an objecctive based one, like blowing up a wall in a castle. I know bridges can be blown up, so maybe walls can too? Also about Husky, they should have Chips the dog in it, who dragged 3 Italians away from a machinegun!

question: What exactly do you mean with the word fortification? In my opinion it could be anything from some dug in positions, over ancient castles to a well defended line of bunkers.

I'm pretty positive that you will see at least one of those kinds of fortifications in FH2.

It would be cool to see a 'fantasy' map involving a Nazi castle in the Alps which some British commandos need to capture or blow up an objective at it. (Maybe i just love Where Eagles Dare too much...)
