Heheh.. only n00bs complain about "worst" maps... lack of skill and poor computer hardware.. although Outskirts need some balancing.. the balance pisses me off as well.. but the map was made for 0.5. I can understand the ignorancy though, with the new 0.6 added to the map it got unbalanced (e.g. KT & PAK40 were added).. but it should be better in 0.62.

Thing is.. the map runs on a thin line.. if the Germans make one mistake then the Russians are screwing them over big time.. if the Russians make a mistake then they get the same beating.. whoever is strongest can do the big beating and wins the map. Yeah it's frontal attack.. I like frontal attack. It is the way every battle was fought.. heheh, ol' poor n00bs. Each movement in the map has its prize and price.

Might do a remake and expand the map a little.. later. After I finish my second Berlin map.. which is gonna be pure frontal as well.. take that you n00bs!

My least favorite map would be Iwo Jima.. nice map, but the Axis can't stand up against the Shermans, Corsairs and semi-auto rifles and always get pushed to the hill where they receive the usual beating. And Zielona Gora is a fragfest.. spawn, kill, die, etc. Map looks quite nice though, but it's just a bit too small.

Beast of WarKarellia and Zielona Gora maps look very good, and have a typical gameplay.......these are not bad designed maps, people that do not like them just don't like the playing style of these maps. If they do not like, it is a personal opinion of them, not a general opinion. ?

Karelia is a cool. One of the only FH maps with useful trenches and a realistic amount of trees. Look at Guadalcanal for example. You do not exactly feel as if you're on one of the most densely forested jungle islands on the planet. More like a golf course. Karelia has realistic terrain...I would know...I'm a Finn. The annoying aspects about Karelia would be easy to fix. Change the über IS-2 to T34/85 or two T34/76s. In order to remove the Soviet causes for complaint...broaden the accessible map area leading from the Russian base to the forest flag just a bit. Add some more covering terrain features too. Improve the forest flag defenses. Above all, add exits from that damned trench. It's very uncool that one has to be raped everytime exiting the trench. As regards Finns, give them a Pak AT gun at the beach flag to ward of the Soviet tanks getting too close. Broaden the map area accessible as potential disembarkation points once the beach flag is lost. Tweak the artillery a bit and...voila..you'd have a killer map. Karelia is a case of a cool map with some "issues". Much like Foy etc. take care, LaDigue

Well if you do make the map my suggestions are: obviously make the map bigger(wider and longer), remove that stupid hill in the middle of the battle, make a more realistic defense system, better textures, and make the terrain more realistic(cliffs at edge of map where out of bounds starts).

But with your new experience you seem to be showing with your new Berlin Streets map I think a redo of Berlin Outskirts could turn out much better.

And one last thing, every battle was not fought with frontal assaults, this isn't 1700-1800s. :D

I am gonna chime in here and say that I personally do not like the map "the storm" I really can't get to grips with this one, no matter what tactics I use I seem to fall short of my usual standards. I just don't feel the atomosphere like I do on other maps...I know what the map is trying to convey but that isn't really going to help when it looks like a wash of white. There is a lot of open space in this one..usually I find myself travelling half the time unless the allies get a flag in the town which lately has been rare. Aside from this map I generally love playing each and every map...most of the time I find myself wishing that I could play a little longer if it happens that a map is over too quickly. Not every map is going to be perfect, I accpet this and usually give it no more than a moments thought, only when I see a drastic unbalance do I think that something should be changed.

Karellia is at this worse when the Germans/Finns are forced to the last spawn point and can't do anything because of the constant Katayusha artillery barrage.

I'm not really sure what real battle the Karelia map is supposed to portray, with the odd river thing in the middle. All I can think of is the battle of Äyräpää-Vuosalmi, where the Finns had a beachhead in the Äyräpää side, with rest of the forces in the Vuosalmi side. IIRC there was no bridge, since it had been disassembled. In any case, I personally feel that the map needs to be wider, in addition to the already suggested improvements.

I don't like any of the original maps much (except for Bulge), with Bocage being exceptionally poor.

All the Pacific maps are crap except Iwo Jima.

Saipan is without doubt the worst map in any mod I have played!
