I don't understand what that has to do with VM. Isn't he in an Axis reenactment unit? The video looked pretty much like what I would expect 95% of reenactment to be anyway--guys wandering around doing nothing in particular. Its just not that well edited is all.

i love how they put in a soundclip over the vid of guys walking off after being "killed". i can see how some well planned/executed/elaborate reenactments might be effective in giving a picture of how historical battles were fought, but that was just...combat fetish fanboyism to the extreme

LMFAO, that was shit, Reinholt. I donno where the hell you pulled that from, but that looks nothing like what a reenactment is. You have no clue how much fighting goes on, its damn intense. Yes, there's a lot of marching...but you try smashing your way up an allied held hill, through pillboxes, and rifle positions, leapfrogging along. That was Camp Taquitz in May. 12th SS< 10th SS< 21st Panzer, 352 Infantry, and my own unit, 2nd Fallschirmjaeger. We went up a wooded hill that was almost vertical, leapfrogging our way up the sides, and entirely routing the allied force, then smashed our way across the pass. We'd let one guy go out, get shot, then flank around the allied position, toss a couple nades, and keep moving. Non-public reenactments are intense, and brutal. Hand to hand combat, especially with the RUsskies, is common place. WW1 is even more intense, since it continues into the night. TNT going off in no man's land, flares going up, us jumping into the enemy trench with clubs, knives, and pistols. Yeah, people get hurt a lot. Until you've been to a real reenactment, you know NOTHING, Reinholt, nothing.

BTW, we do reenact actually battles. Right now, we got the battle of Duhrka Pass (spelling?) in 1944, Carpathian Mountains. Germans are going defensive, we're digging in with a full trench line, MG nests, mortar pits for the mortars, a coule PAK gun positions for the Pak36s and Pak40.... Might even have the Stug from 1st SS, not sure. THat's going up against the russian 150th Guards Rifles, 1st Airborne, and possibly one other Russian rifles unit.

Credit cards, wha? 7 shots, cuz in real life, you try not to waste ammo. And yeah, its a reenactment. SS shoot allied prisoners all the time. In fact, the 9th American INfantry is known to us as the "Ami SS" because they shoot any German prisoners. Me, I prefer not to surrender. If I'm about to be captured, I pull out my knife, and jump the nearest person.:D
