I'm on the lookout for a JA clan to join. I'd perfer a smaller clan that's atleast semi-serious (not stiff though ;) ). I had already played JO for some time before JA came out, and I would say I was a decent deulist. I got JA about a week ago and my saber skills are really rusty, and I find myself being beat alot more than I used to. I think I have alot of potential, and I'm willing to learn how to hone my skills. The ideal situation would be to find a clan and a master to train me all at once :) get in touch with me (IM or PM) if you're interested in training / recruiting me (or both) and I'd be most appreciative :) My IM info is listed in my profile.

I have been looking for an apprentice for a while, I have learnt (if not mastered) virtually every saber trick in the book for all five styles. Our clan also has an excellent trainer if you ever need to practice. I only ask that you remain dedicated, a lot of my recruits have just got bored of JKA and left after about a month of being in the clan.

skill is so much more then being able to do all the moves properly (watch the best duellers to see what I mean). It's strategies and combos that will lead you to the victory. personally, I've been training myself and a couple of padawans for months, most of them are pretty good now. many of them are still in -=|Lord|=- unfortunately (for some ppl), the measure, wehn to let somebody join, has been raised, for we're semi-pro (some are really 1337, some aren't, having just as much fun, but there is no n00b)... so I allways look at the potential somebody has got. some players could be trained for months and never would become really good. potential is almost more important that skill itself, cuz skill can be brought to life through training.

I'd like to think I have a good amount of potential. I seem to be pretty good at avoiding being hit... but when I try to go on the offensive.....ouch for me.

being too defensive is not that effective. used to fight like that a long time ago too. with some training, you can be offensive with every of the saber types, and cause massive damage. (if you're too defensive and keep waiting for an enemy to attack you etc, it might be considered nooby, runny and lame; aswell as never good enough for the 1337-level. good vs. noobs tho :p)

yupp, never had a trainer myself either. watching good players fight in spectate mode is very usefull. btw to kick ass is relative. some ppl think they kick ass cuz they're good fraggers on ffa-servers, but that's where all the noobs are at. not even all the duel servers are 1337. it's a bit of experience to know on which servers you will fight really good fighters. don't get me wrong, not doubting in your skills Monoxide ;) just wanted to remark that not everyone who claims to be good is really.
