I came across the mirror https://gamefront.online/files/ recently which includes many files that are missing on GameFront, which can also give an idea on what files were originally on FileFront/GameFront but aren't here now (many COD: World at War files still don't seem to appear or are missing).
I have attempted to upload one file from the mirror, which would be https://gamefront.online/files/22015033/mp_harborextreme.zip, but when I try to re-upload the file on https://www.gamefront.com/games/call-of-duty-1/file/mp-harbor-extreme, I received an error where the file size did not match despite that the size on disk seems to match the file size. This is what the General tab displays under Properties.
Size: 1.49 MB (1,563,715 bytes)
Size on disk: 1.49 MB (1,564,672 bytes)
Any idea what the problem could be?
Thank you for the response. This 3rd party mirror can be helpful in retaining many of the lost files and the file size error might get in the way despite that the descriptions between the mirror and this website would imply the same .zip file. I have tried different browsers like Firefox, Chrome, and Brave but nothing seemed to change. Would be great to see where the problem is.
I suppose the problem still isn't solved (or it might still be me)? I still can't re-upload missing files, and it especially gets worse when it's a 1GB+ file that meets with a "file entity too large" error.
Have you got any recent examples of this?
If the file names and filesizes do not match exactly I believe this is placed into a review but I think some changes were made to upload sizes to fix this.
I had a PM with @Mikey regarding 1GB+ files not too long ago, I was told the limit was raised to 2GB which was a pleasure as some files are large. Funny enough, I have successfully reuploaded missing files for Call of Duty and Doom 3 on their normal game pages, COD4's demo being 1GB+ large of course.
On their "missing files" pages I can't seem to upload one file from there, yet I can on files in their normal game pages. There are some exceptions I've experienced like this, but otherwise, most reuploads on the normal pages work successfully. Not sure what is going on in my side, but it's kind of weird how I can't reupload any files on "missing files" pages yet I can on files that would appear to be restored yet (some) aren't.
If anyone has issues with larger files let me know and I can do a direct FTP transfer if needed!
