What do you prefer? I like abstracts better. 1 They are more fun to make 2 They allow you to get more creative..

I mean I look at all thes showcases where all I see is renders with grunge backgrounds. It's getting repetative and old. JMO tell me what you think.

Indeedy. However when a showcase is made up of all signatures, you can't really expect much. People get stuck in a rut and like to do the same thing over and over.

I don't much like renders; I prefer things created by the author him/herself.

I don't prefer either.

I like stuff which is 100% made by someone, and I know many will disagree, but I don't see photoshop abstract 'work' as.. art or skills, since it can be achieved with a mere try-and-fail method and be improved by the same way. It is a generalization, yes, but in most cases, this is the truth, nor do most "abstracts" have any thought put into, it's just mashing of buttons.

Grunge signatures with renders? Too much used, agreed. I stopped doing signatures ages ago, though, I mostly draw now.

Making your own 'render' is the best thing in the world. Try it.
