Does anyone know how to PS/animate a moving text glare like this: xample6nf.png The glare moves to the right along the text, I don't know how else to describe it, it's like there's a panning spotlight behind the text. I remember seeing someone with the effect in their avatar, but unfortunately I do not remember who. If anyone can give me a basic tutorial on how to do this, it would be much appreciated. Thx

Paintshop pro has a way to do it automatically with text and Xara3D can do it to 3d text. It'd be possible in photoshop, but too complicated.

Agreed, you would have to manually angle each glow for each frame. I think it could be done, but its tedious.

I found this but its a pretty lame effect: http://www.twizted-style.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=210 But if you spent a bit longer getting rid of the excess it might look half decent.

That really sucks. I used to have a trial version for Xara, but that put a crappy watermark on the background which look really ugly, and I haven't ever had Paintshop. I figured you could do it in Photoshop, but like you guys said it would take a lot of work. Thanks for the help, and Smigg, that link looks really promising :bows: , I think it'll suffice. With some cleanup, and outer-glow and maybe a gradient overlay it'll look pretty good.

I believe the trial od PSP keeps working after it expires, but it nags you. No watermark, though.
