I've been using this technique in a lot of signatures and it gives a quite neat effect. This was meant to be a background only tutorial but it turned out to be a full sig tutorial, lol. Anywayz enjoy it and good luck.

Results using this technique: results2ct.jpg

I've added some minor things I learned from another tutorial I've seen (like the sharpening thing and duplicate the grunge background and turn it to lighten with gaussian blur.)

EDIT: After posting the full image it was way to small to read it, so I added a .zip that contains the tutorial. My computer is clean, so you don't need to be afraid of viruses :) And +rep is always appreciated.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to HGen_Snake again.

*sniff*

Good post man. It helped.

Aargh I need some decent grunge brushes. Can I have links to the ones you used?

Yeah also you need to include more info on the "pixel bluring" of the render. Each time I attempt it using the setting you specified it never quite reaches the end of the signature. You should also include a link to the brushes and text you used (Everyone, text is "Backslash" from DaFont.com/en). Otherwise on the whole it was a good tutorial

Okay , ijust finished off. The major issue with this technique is that a lot depends on the color variety in your render. Nontheless it is a good technique and i'll continue using it Most of the effects and colors were customly put on after finshing your tutorial, because my render didn't have enough color. vinsignewstyle2hr.jpg

Yeah if your render is colorful enough I suggest applying color balance adjustment layers with clouds to multicoloring it a little

Also: Please note: When you duplicate your blurred layers you have to move it around so that it covers the entire sig. Just fyi ;)

Try2, this came out a lot better. I used a render light effects-unviersal layer to tweak the colors at the end, and i went on the backslash font hype. I used my other nick ,Randomly because it works with backslash randomlyjacobsig015yk.jpg
