I need advice and experiences about image processing software. I would want a program mostly for photo post processing and once in a while i would want to get little creative. It should be easy to use, fast, versatile, have noise reduction function (or such add-on available for this program). Im currently using Photoshop Elements 2, MS Picture It! Photo 7, Picasa 2 and of course the allmighty Paint :D. I would want a software that combines all of the best functions of these. They all have their own advantages and disadvantages. Here are some of them:
Picasa 2 - is easiest to use and has all of the basic post processing functions. Doesnt have any advanced stuff and is little slow.
Photoshop Elements 2 - has all of the advanced stuff (for example its good for purple fringe removal), but its not even nearly as fast or easy to use as Picasa.
Picture It! Photo 7 - has an excellent and easy to use cutting tool. Crashes sometimes.
Paint - is good for all of the most simple stuff.
Ill make a more clear wish list: - fast - easy to use - versatile (post processing + creativity) - noise reduction (or available add-on) - has more advanced functions - good cutting tool
CS3 and PSP sound like good candidates but theres propably more good programs too. Of course i could just go and take a look at the specs on the manufacturers website (and i have), but i need opinions and experiences from real people. So thats where you come in!
Thanks and post questions if you want!
i use both cs2 and cs3. both are great programs and i think you couldn't go wrong choosing either one of them.
Gimp now has GIMPSHOP. It is a more user friendly app. & its free.
