Hi. Im thinking of getting a paintprograme but not sure which one to get. Im thinking of getting adobe photoshop Elements6. Can you make paintings your self on there like if i wanted make space scenes such as. Planets, nebula and other cool space stuff. And also other pictures or is Elements just for photographs. I would be greatfull for any advice as i want a paint programe what can do this and i do actualy want it for painting and not for photo software.
Thanks.
Vue6 is probably the best "painting" (well, matte painting anyways) program out there. The problem is it'll run you about $800
If you really want to "paint" in a program like Photoshop, GIMP, CorelDraw you are going to need a graphics pad. The mouse just doesn't cut it

Yup already got a mouse tablet there cool hehe.
What i am planning to do when ive made some paintings and which ever paint programe i choose and it will be a well known make like adobe, coral etc. If i buy coral draw and if i got a printer propper photo qualaty paper and good frames to put the painting in could i then sell my work on ebay or home, would this be legal with coral draw?. I have actualy seen Corel Draw Graphics Suite X3 and looks good.
I do how ever want a cheap paint programe like elements6 to start with and was also wondering if people use this to make textures for games for fun.
Thanks.
inn design is the top IMO it's photshop but mor scofiscticated
"In Design" isn't really the type of program you use for painting. If you were creating a magazine layout, yes, but not a painting.
If you have a graphics tablet you can do amazing things in Photoshop or Corel Draw.
This was done in Photoshop with a graphics tablet
Im no fanboy but the spiderman one was excellent to watch. And if you can do simular sort of things in photoshop Elements 6 then im buying as that is a budget paint programing and doesnt cost much. £64,99p Compared to PhotoshopCS3 £600
Elements is more of your average joe wants to remove the redeye and adjust the contrast on his family picnic photos kinda program.
I don't believe you will be able to do that kind of stuff in Elements, for that you need Photoshop, Corel Draw, or something like GIMP (which is free)

yes, that's right. well my call would be (if you have the money) photoshop 10.0 extended (CS3)
Isn't corel draw more focused on vector's?
Honestly, PS is probably one of the best programs for tablet painting that I know of. Not sure on how well gimp uses a tablet, but if it's good. that\s probably the best free alternative.
And there's probably nothing in elements that you couldn't do in gimp better and for free.
Adobe should have envisioned elements to be something like GMAX I guess :P
Adobe Photoshop CSS2 is the best for me.
