I did this in ½day and i want to know what ppl think about it. Beware this is my 2nd project ever and i have only watched like 2 movies about how 3ds max´s interface looks like and how you handle the viewports...
I think that i will make an animation of a chess match but i dont know yet :P
It is pretty awesome, next I would make a video where the pieces are automated for a few moments, and I use music in the BG. After doing that it is logical that you would be ready to make eve more impressive videos. That is damn fine work but imagine if you just put that extra insane bit of work into it. It would become even more of your skill for 3D art and in the end you would be all so much better.
At any rate if you want to do something hard with your spare time, I would automate it for a few seconds and put music into it.
If you take that route, next time you make models I would make it more cartoony, and large , give the pieces faces ,and have them react to one another. I feel that if you did that people would think that you are quite brilliant . That is just me though
Cool! Looks nice! I'm thinking how cool it would be to have chess... except a render with tons of explosions and pieces attacking each-other!!! Great work though, especially considering it's your second project.
But my minds a little off ;) Not to mention it would be very difficult.
I should start working with Blender a bit more...
Every single chesspiece added and i will post a pic later on. Looks quite nice now and i found the modifier "meshsmooth" and its totally awesome :)
