Text is good but you need a better background, and the render needs to be blended better But good work.

Multiple ways such as, erasing, using motion blurs, smudging, using the soft edge tool, and using softeners.

Heres one of the guides I used when starting out. YouTube - Signature Tutorial for Photoshop Its pretty good and got me going.

use blur tool,

Personally, i think the guy is horrible cut out, its rather choppy, other then that, its okay.

I fully agree with you but thats not the picture I am showing, click on the link I gave. I'm still working on the other one. I'm fairly new to photoshop, so I only know a few basics.

I agree with Admiral, it would only take around two minutes to produce a signature like that. It was a simple cut out, you've added an Effect or the actual image has bad quality and then you've added some text. It also looks a little dark. Since you've stated you know the basics well done, most people that know the basics produce terrible work. In future try to learn the Blur tools and maybe smudging.
