Any of you guys and gals got a digital drawing pad? I'm interested in getting one, but i've no idea about them....for example, where to look for buying one, approx. cost etc... if anyone knows more, reckon you could let me know? :)
I'd just get a scanner, draw pictures by hand and scan them in (but it's not for everyone, some got the gift of drawing (I can't say I'm one of them), and some don't, that's life ;))
I've got a small Wacom one, it's really good. Depending on what make/size you get, the cost can vary greatly. If you want a decent one (the one I have), try a Wacom graphire2. If you want to go professional (and big!) try for a Intuos version.
Well if you got a scanner, then I would buy a good one because I got a cheap one and I regret it to this day. My friend has a drawing pad and its really cool, I liked it allot. He had a pretty big one and I’m guessing it was very costly. And if you serious about this stuff then I would pick one up. But get a cheep one to start and then upgrade.
is there an advantage of a drawing pad over a scanner? I have never heard about the drawing pads until now but I suppose it makes some sense, but why not just use a pencil and scanner?
Because with a drawing pad, you can edit it in real-time.
If you use the eraser too much while drawing it gets fucked up, hence it's useful. Although I prefer an ordinary H2/HB pen :D

What are some decent ones that are in the $50 - $100 range?
