I have a .mpg file, that i want to convert part of into .gif, so it can be used in a sig. Does anyone know how to do this, and what equipmeny i need?

Probably should be in the graphics department. However, it may be answered before a Mod moves it. :D
Simple, pause the MPG. Press the "Prnt Scrn" key, on the keyboard. Now paste it into a program that can save as a GIF, or JPG. Rinse and Repeat.

Use Quickview. Export as a .mov and I think it lets you select the frame rate and the frame range. After that, just open the .mov in imageready and tweak.

Sorry, its been a while since I've been to that site.
Bink Video. Is the one to get. Run "radvideo.exe" after you install it. Select "Convert a file", and select the movie you want. Convert it to FLC or Flic format.
In the OpenFX folder run "fli2gif.exe". Open the Flic file, and convert it to GIF. Then find the images you want in your GIF movie, and Batch convert them with BINK Video.
Thats how I do it.
