Using a .PNG here is fine. Looking at the source code, any images are corrected using a javascript transparency fix. So, now the compatibility is no longer a factor he may as well use .PNG to gain the best quality. (Which he is)

.PNG files render transparency correctly on Gaming Forums because I implimented into the header of Gaming Forums a correction script. The reason i did this is exactly so people like polska could have sweet transparent signatures and avatars that looked just as good regardless of what skin you use. My Avatar, my rank image, etc. are all PNG for example.

.PNG files are fine on here in IE, FireFox, Opera etc. etc.

ah, i didn't know about png being compatable now.

i better start using this format a bit more.
