is there anyone else who uses GIMP?

I have to because i cannot afford photoshop, and don't really like it. the whole feel of the program is off, and i have no idea why different transform controls (resize/move/rotate) are completely different tools and not built into one like photoshop. it's really been annoying me recently, but until i can get photoshop i'll have to keep using it.

does anyone know any gimptricks to ease the pain for me?

GIMPshop.com - A GIMP hack by Scott Moschella

Interface is meant for people who want to pretend they have photoshop.

I use GIMP, it's awesome, especially since it's free.

Also, that GIMPshop thing sucks. :/

The GIMPshop interface made it a lot better for me, especially the 'all in one window' thing, eased a lot of confusion. now all i need to do is find some inspiration to make something.

Before I got PS3 I used GIMP. I also used the GimpShop version which is linked above. Admittedly, it does make things a lot easier to manage. Gimp is still on my computer because I have a lot of brushes and materials I collected for it during the time that it was my main editer. Have you done any customization yet?

i haven't customised it beyond getting gimpshop, i'll probably look for a few brushes soon, i'm running out of things to do without brushes

well if I remember correctly, this is one of the better site for resources and tuts pertaining gimp :) And well I think quite a lot of us used it at one time or another. Admittedly I remember squat of it.
