Ever since i got the gimp ive only done 2 things. 1 Edit a desktop backround. And 2 changing the size of my sig. What ive been trying to do is stretch is out making it look better centered. Of course i knew by stretching it the quality would get lower. But theres gotta be some sorta program in Gimp that will let me higher the quality.....

My 2 attempts....

Attempt 1 is my sig right now....

Attempt 2. I tried to make it even longer but the quality just sux.... http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/6165/sig38kk.jpg Im hoping to get the qaulity looking as good as this... http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/9885/sig0lf.jpg So how can i do it?

I'm afraid you won't get it to look that good without either having Phoenix or . . . other person (I forgot who the other one who was doing your sig was :uhm: ) redoing it (not overly recommended), or simply redoing yourself to make it longer. Editing the image and stretching it will always make it look cheap and lower the quality badly, you're trying to make a pixel stretch out to several pixels long, doesn't really work that way, there's not really any way around it . . . .

UNLESS, you crop the image you've got at a longer length with less height, and then resize it to the proper size, but you'll get less of the picture that way, but it's basically your only option without redoing it. Of course, that'll also reduce the quality, but not to that distorted of an extent

Enlarging an image will ALWAYS result in quality loss. Think of an image as a mosaic. Enlarging it doesn't really do anything but make the tiles bigger.

You can enlarge an image...maybe 10 pixels maximum, with keeping the same quality, but to go from the current size to 800 width would mean to re-do the entire sig. For one, the original picture would have to be cropped alot more than your current one. I could re-do it if you want...but Lebowski will have to tell me the name of the font he used. :p

i could do it in the size you want but it will ofcourse allways look a bit "stretch't" .. or as phonix said your'd have to chop off more of the pic

EDIT: something like this? mastersigkopi.jpg
