Do you have any graphics programs, e.g., Photoshop or GIMP?

Usually, I copy and paste the whole picture into whatever my template is (I have sig templates that are 150/600 or something like that, and desktop templates that are 1024/768), then I just use the eraser tool in photoshop to erase all the stuff I don't want. I don't like the the "magic eraser" tool, because it is very innacurate, and the eraser gives me an element of control. Usually I use the preset "soft" eraser brushes, because they don't show mistakes as much as the "hard" brushes. I know it seems like it'll take a lot of time, but you'd be suprised, usually I have a picture cut out in under 5mins, though people tend to be harder.

Just grab the pen tool and trace around them.

Or if you use gimp, there is a copy tool and you can just slide it over the image. I'm not very clear am I?
