PiSt0l WhIpPeDok the easiest way to do this is to . . . 1. On the window your picture is on, at the top go to SCRIPT-FU. 2. Go down to DECOR. 3. Then click BORDER. 4. From there u can select how big u want your border to be.

Yeah, never mind my post...this is alot easier, if you want a 5 px stroke kind of thing make x 5 and y 5, that kind of thing. Thanks for the help.smilie.gif

Or, instead of selecting the inverse, get your rectangular marquee and use shift (adds area) and alt (subtracts area) to make a sig outline. Hold shift to make perfect shapes (usefull on avatars) and use the gudeilines (not sure if GIMP has these) for other precision work

no problem. i was wondering how to make the border a few days ago then i found then i looked around all the menus for like 10 minutes and found it..
