Hi im new to Adobe and i have some images which i need to seperate from the background. I dont know what to do with the magic wand? Help!

Slicing? erm thats for websites and probably something else. To cut out images with the magic wand click on it and click on the background if the image contrasts with the background easily say a solid color the images backgrounded will auto be selected. If it is not so easily contrasted look at the toolbar on the top and turn the tolerance to a number that would be more suitable for the picture. Another method is zooming in ctrl and + and using the eraser around the edge of the image. A method I sometimes use is the Polygonal lasso Tool (right click on the lasso tool) and then select around the image with that it saves time but sometimes looks choppy unless you take care.
