Before I say anything: great improvements from when you first showed up here. I see you've mastered rain. I just made my first animated sig with rain and lightening today as a matter of fact. Anyway, the first two sigs you should blend the images in better. There are several ways to do that but for those I suggest just taking your lasoo tool, lasooing most of the image, right click and select feather 15 px, then select inverse and cut. Do this one more time if you want. Maybe duplicate the image layer, motion blur 0 degrees 50, set to overlay, then set the opacity of the original image layer to 60% or something. Those two would also benefit from a simple border and some touch up on the text. Set the text layer to overlay or soft light and stroke 1 px black for example. The second sig you need to fix the text, especially the bottom text. It is hard to read. Just removing the outside glow will fix that. I think this one has some of your better brushing but its a big bland, just a lot of empty space. I would suggest starting off by adding a couple more color adjustment layers to it and cloud the layers to spice it up and make it a little multicolored. The fourth sig I think you should change the color of the background to something more ominous. The render doesnt match. The next one is cool and original, it's like a cartoon - completely different style. I like your animated ones. The one you did for kings guard would fill the space a lot better if you could add a lightening flash into it. Here's a good tut for that: http://www.tutorials.cn/tutorial/6747/.

SteakboyAlso, like I beat into Phoenix ( ;) ) It really helps things if you make it hit things, not necessarily everything, but some things. In this situation I'd make it hit the Upper body and knees (are those his knees?) since he's leaning forward hunched over, and then hitting the text since it's over top of the guy/monster/thing. That's really the trick with selling your animation. Examples? Yep :nodding:

Here's one from long long ago (but not in a galaxy far far away)

Sephy's sig for Urak

For other examples go poke Phoenix cause I can't find a link to his old sigs that actually did have the splashes, or go poke Seph

yeah, what he means is something like this: armoredcoresigfinal22ru.gif

^that

Also, a couple suggestions: 1) what Tap said, you should try to blend them better 2) Also like Tap said, brushing 3) you like your render clouds a wee bit too much, you may want to try it with a real sky, or try to make it look more like a real sky (kinda like DEADEYE's looks like -- it's not too bad) 4) text could use a little work, try to make it part of the image, as well as use a font that goes well with it (the counter-strike ones don't look right for some reason). Colors and blending there is important, you may want to try a luminocity blend on your text :uhm:

..That first one, the background.. I've seen it before.

And you overuse the whole "rain" effect. It really doesn't look that good.

Ah, yes,...here.

They are okay, and getting the rain animation done fairly well is good. however, i went through the same thing as you, trying new things instea dof prcaticing what i knew. My best advice fro right now is to work on your techniques, make sigs at your level, and gradually move up.

still, if I took your sig and cut the name out of it, and told the person I gave it to, but didn't ask you, that'd still be wrong wouldn't it? Renders and stuff are fine, but you don't really want to use other people's backgrounds or artistic designs. It's not against the law or anything to my knowledge, but it's usually a very good idea not to go about it that way. Only use photos or wide-spread paintings (such as paintings of Dragons and such like Nem uses occassionally) brushed backgrounds are usually accross that unwritten line you should try not to cross ;)
