You can use many programs such as Animation Shop or Photoshop. I use photoshop. Heres a very rough tutorial: When you have the image you want to make into an animation, click 'Jump to ImageReady' and there should be a window at the very bottom that says 'Animation' on the first tab. To the right of it (extreme right) there is an arrow. Click on the arrow and click on 'new frame' then modify the image in the 2nd frame however you want. Then click 'tween' (the button thats kinda purple underneath the frames) and select how many frames you want in you're gif. Then click ok or whatever 'ok' command is there and make any last edits. When you're done, go up to file------->Save optimized as. This should save it as a GIF Image.

oh my god...version 7 is so much easier. Apparently Version 6 doesn't have that because i checked today for it, but no...i have to create every frame from scratch...as in selecting only one layer per frame. :uhoh: And there aren't any colored icons in Photoshop 6 either. :'(
