Pretty good job on the 250nn0j.jpging, the sig could be a bit better though.

I'm sure there's some good tutorials here, and when I want to learn something new in PS, I Google "'query' photoshop". Usually proves very helpful. But the best way to find out what each feature does is to use them. Throw down some colors onto individual layers, then start messing around with filters (from the menus above) and layer styles (double-click the layers, and the top drop-down menu on the layers panel). Try bouncing layers of differing colors off each other by applying different effects to each layer.

You might also want to apply borders to your sigs. Easiest way to do this is:

  • Create a new layer called border
  • Select border layer, then "Ctrl+A" to select all.
  • Edit > Stroke
  • Set your border width and coloĆ¼r
  • Make the location "Inside"
  • Adjust blending options

If you create multiple borders and apply different widths, blending options, and layer styles to each, you can really make them jump out as defining points. But the key is balance. Don't make them stand out too much, or they'll detract from your main focal point (render).

It's a very good start. The background doesn't do it justice though. Keep practising, you'll get it!

poor color coordination on the newer sig. poor cut of the mustang, causing pixelated edges. horrid background

but its a another artwork on the road to being an artist :)
