Any alternatives? I can't seem to open it, I've used the Mac download, and I oped it with StuffIt Expander like it said, but it won't work :'(

Just for images. I'm not into mapping or rendering or skinning. I just want something that can create scenery. Or do I need something else?

I know of g-max (3d software - free version of 3dsmax). but I don't know what file types it uses or reads.

Are you sure you have the right system requirements?

Make sure you do here: http://www.planetside.co.uk/terragen/mac/

Terragen is great for basic scenery, but if you get the chance, maybe try taking a look at artmatic, its a mac-only program, but i've seen some nice stuff done with it.
