Does anyone know a good editing video editing software? Main criteria include: Ability to insert and edit individual frames in a clip (such as put a picture or even animation over another clip)** Custom Music tracks and effects Relative ease of use (I can figure out what I range to be upper-intermediate layouts) Suggestions will be appreciated
**Sort of like Imageready, except with the ability to compile into complete movies instead of framey, pixelly gifs without any sound

Windows actually comes with a pretty easy to use video editor. It's called "Windows movie maker and you'll find it in your start menu". I made my demoreel with it

Yes, Windows Movie Maker is actually good, for a free program thrown into a Microsoft OS.

WMM2 is functional, if you don't want to do anything in-depth. I personally use Pinnacle 9 Studio, which I must say I'm rather disappointed with (considering it crashes 1/3 of the time), so if you're not looking for professional software I'd say go with these guys and pick up Windows Movie Maker 2.
Other than that, I'd shop around for software if you're looking for something a little bit more professional. Just remember though, when they say "We have over 100 filters/wipes to chose from!", they don't tell you you need to pay extra to 'unlock' that feature.
I didn't make it!
if you create a PROFILE in windows movie maker you can set anything to anything , eg, movie maker only goes to 720x565 res , on your own profile its whatever res you want , like mine is 1024x768 for recording on FRAPS. Same for sound and its quallity... have fun.....
