If some company somewhere were to make a Warhammer 40K MMO, what would it be like?

well Mythic Entertainment is currently in the making of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning due to come out early next year. As for warhammer 40k, we may never know, i want Mythic Entertainment to make a warhammer 40k MMO, it would be actually nice to have. now to try to explain the way i c it as an MMO, u have a squad of 4, everyone does, n u learn differ skills, get differ magic items, etc. kind of like Diablo 2 n WoW. I do think u can have more in squad but 4 sounds reasonable to have since hundreds of ppl will be playing it, going into battle, RvR (realm vs realm), just like in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. hard to say how warhammer 40k will turn out to be as a MMO, but DoW has the right sources n stuff to do it, so it is possible for 1 to be made just that there isnt any news or anything about that being in production right now. i want to get WAR (Warhammer Online....) because it will support the physx accelerator n is RvR, a lot better then WoW. But u know what, we have to wait n see if it will happen, if i had my career job as a game animator, i would most definitely work on it. have to wait n see buddy.

I just think that watever company makes it should stick completley true to the Games-Workshop codex. They should make every aspect of Warhammer 40K into the MMO. That would just be damn awesome.

well me and wej were talkin bout this on the bus. but you would start out as a normal person on a randomly selected planet, and then you can really do anything you want. you could join the guard or the pdf. and from the guard, you could be inducted into the space marines. and as a human, you could join a chaos cult. as a guard, you could go awal and take a few budies with you and create your own renegade army. as a sm, you could become a chaos marine. and you could go into the imperial navy and do stuff. or go pirate. and you could become an inquisitor if you went through the proper things

Yeah, and you could start on any number of home planets that give birth to the different sm chapters, and if you join that chapter then you get the special fringe benefits. Also, if by any chance you are gifted wit pskik powers, then you could become a psyker or an inquisitor.

this is a really good topic, my friend and i play a little rpg type TT game where you start off as just a normal person but not a midget one from DOW, imperial guard type, and you train to join imperial guard and basically the same idea as "Rabid Midgit" however in the same way as you achieve victory points on TT, you hitch a ride on a Valkyrie/Thunderhawk/(if you choose a race out of human/tau/orks/eldar:hitch a ride on a Orca dropship/Bomba/Phoenix into a battle against other players and cpu armies like tyranids and necrons etc, but anyway, with the victory points type things, you go up ranks, or purchase new weapons and armour due to the skill you have earned. Also, your planet could come under invasion, especially nids, and you could be the first to discorver the odd badly hidden lictor or seed pods dropping in and be the one who has to warn the others on the planet and you either escape and are punished (maybe less skill point of something) or stay and fight to the last where you earn rewards, if you die "for the emperor" as in heroically you would not be penalised for death, but if it is something careless (sniped out/fell down a big hole/killed yourself) you would also lose skill points, as you can see, i have given this topic much thought
