Hey, For Christmas I was wondering about picking up a DS, but I'm worried that Nintendo is just going to announce the DS SP (DS equivalent to GBA SP) in about 5 months at the next E3 Expo. Should I forget about it and purchse one anyways, or should i wait it out?

Dont purchase one. The DS isnt realeasing any exciteing games in the future from any company and it will slowly die down.

rammel needs to refer to the psp vs. ds thread. Don't listen to him 1percent. But also this ain't the place to argue it.

If I were you I'd buy a DS. Nintendo might "reveal" a newer model at next year's E3 but another one won't be released until next year at the least.

It's definetely worth the measly $129 though. I do suggest the Mario Kart bundle though for $149. After all, Mario Kart DS is "The best kart racing game ever created" -IGN.

LOL, your right. Not one good game, like you share everyones view, yeah thats it i best not insult you then oh great one...

1percent ignore that rammel guy, the DS has plenty of amazing games. Mario Kart, Nintendogs, Wario Ware, Advance Wars to name a few, even if Nintendo do bring a DS SP out which i highly doubt... so, it won't be any better at all just a different casing. Get a DS and be happy ;)

Right. And also I meant 2007 when I meant "next year". It'll be a good long time. No use waiting.

To be honest with you, im of the following opinion:

If you like Nintendo games, then buy a Nintendo console... if not, dont.

Nintendo have a certain style in their games, people (fools) like to say their games are childish, but they're not, they're just not 'serious' games but they're all fun in their own right... I'm a Mario fan through and through :p

If you do get a DS tho I'd recommend Wario Ware... love that game... great for the morning commute :)

lol I just RTFQ and realised thats not what you asked :) sorry

I'd agree with Locomotor, if there is to be a SP then it'll be some way off in the future now.

Depends if you like handhelds, I used my DS the first month, now it is sitting in a closet or something.

Buy any games lately? Handhelds only lack a sense of immersiveness but they're still damn fun.

Im sure they will bring out a new model. I read somewhere that they are looking into it. But as everyone has said it will be awhile before its released. So many good games on the DS. You wont regret it. Unlike my PSP which has been gathering dust for a few months now.
