What has happened? Since when did the famous, "Final Boss" of a game become too easy? In the Golden Age of Games (N64 and down) the Final Boss was something to behold. It would was the final test and one would be able to brag about beating the Final Boss. It would usually take at least 1 weekto beat. Now, games have been yielding bosses that do little more then back down in the corner and cry whilst you kill them. Has anybody else noticed this? Honestly, you shouldn't be able to beat the Final Boss on your first try. It takes the whole point of it being the Final Boss away.
I found the last boss in Elite Force 2 on PC to be very easy to kill, did it in my first go.

Are you talking about any games in particular there? I haven't bought many games recently, not wanting to overload my computer after The Great Computer Disaster of 2003, but Jedi Academy did seem to be lacking in the final boss area. Tavion dropped like a fly in a fart contest. Then she got up, and dropped just as quickly. Then again, she wasn't exactly hard to beat in JK2 (by not exactly hard I mean frickin' easy), so I shouldn't have expected too much.

Yeah, final bosses really do seem to be annoyingly easy to defeat. Neverwinter Nights is one of the many 'offenders'. I barely survive the final journey to the end boss, with her minions continually ripping shit out of my poor character without much effort, I finally reach the boss and unbelievably, she could barely touch me with her most powerful offensive spells due to the items that I have picked up on my travels. I couldn't believe it, damn, I was only level 16 (max = 20) and I had absolutely no trouble dispatching her while just a few minutes earlier I was hanging on for dear life with my henchwoman and summoned animals dieing repeatedly trying to aid me.
I honestly felt so disappointed...I was hoping for some titanic battle or at the very least, a challenge but nope, none of it. To make matters even worse, the ending was a huge let down. All it was a small speech by the narrator and a few static pictures. Bad ending to one of the most fantastic games i have ever had the joy of playing.

Ahh memories of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 come flooding back. I remeber that boss. Fucking IMPOSSIBLE!! You had no rings, and there was more than one boss. Ohhh that level made me really angry at my megadrive. Probably why it broke, because i threw the control at it.
A hard boss is on Unreal tournament. If you put the difficulty up, the game is still fair easy, but the boss is really hard. HE DON'T FUCKING DIE!! Or mamybe thats just my old mouse which used to decide to spin my round for no reason........................

Some games that have dissappointingly easy Final Bosses are Mario Sunshine, Ninja Gaiden, and every RPG Game (That is one of the reasons that I hate them so). Icould name more but I really can't remember them at the moment.
Well you take Zelda..Majoras mask. That was way too easy. But the good thing is, the rest of the game made playing it worthwhile.
Wind Waker is the best. The boss was ok. But the whole plot was amazing.
Wind Waker and the Majora's Mask were both complete insults to Zelda.

Yeah but with Neverwinter Nights, the game is suppose to alter the difficulty rating of all monsters to rival your character to keep things interesting, but it didn't. :(
