I tend to play through a game on the setting that is in the dead middle. It should be challenging there, but not so much so you can't explore and get to know the game. If it isn't challenging at all (i.e. Halo), I will generally assume that the hardest setting is no different and not bother again.

I think FPS games should have a training mode where you can set up a few computers, set thier difficulty, and just train until they can handle the game itself. Making the game easier will just bore people, and if a game is boring the first time through than nobody is going to want to go through another snooze fest. The reason games don't have this anymore is because, I've noticed, that A.I. in games has been getting worse. Like Matt pointed out, the enemies (Especially the flood) had little to no A.I. I'm sure that games COULD be better, but developers are getting lazier. They just want to make thier money as fast as they can, and if that means making a quickpiece of crap, they'll do it. What makes me mad is, they succeeded with Halo. That's why X-Box and Playstation have so many more titles than Gamecube, because it takes time to make quality, and that Nintendo does. =)

Yea, ur probably right wit ur console thing, though some PS2 games are good. Like Gran Turismo, that is one of my favourite games. Although some of the shit they make for the PS2 is sickening.

Well, Gran Turismo is good and all, but it's just another racing game. I like Nintendo because they are always trying new stuff. While Sony was making shitty Tekken games, Nintendo made Super Smash Brothers Melee. While everybody else was making ordinary racing games, Nintendo made Mario Kart.

Megaman had some very hard bosses to beat. I know on Megaman X or something like that, the last place you go to, you have to beat every boss available on the game, and then that last basterd. Now games are just too easy.

A little off topic but I also like Nintendo because they are always seem to be trying new things like the newer star wars games which has co-op and multi when your flying around in your ship. Also their will be a megaman collection set thingy out for the cube this summer and you should really take a look at. Like Irrelevant said you have to beat every boss available on the game not to metion that they are all hard and take awhile to beat. It was like this in the older pre-x ones and its like this in the newer ones.

I agree in general games are getting alot easier, however the last level in Farcry is the hardest ive done for along time, infact it was so hard it wasn't any fun and when i completed it I was just relieved rather than excited etc.

So i think they should make most games harder but only to a certain point.
