I'm thinking this is a good deal and a fairly good reason but I'm just makin' sure. There is a lady on my Craigslist who is selling a lot of video game stuff and phones because she broke up with her ex. She said some was meant to be gifts and some she recieved and doesn't want as reminders anymore. Anyways, she has the 60 GB PS3 for $200, almost new with two controllers and some other extras I believe. This is a good deal no? EDIT: Gah, out of state. She said she just moved from here to Westminster PA or something like that (It also said this in her original Craigslist email at the very bottom). It also comes with 6 games. She said she'd ship it for free and that I would have a money order stub that I paid and her full name and address and that I could report her to the police for fraud if she didn't send it (I made a big deal over saying I'd buy it but have been scammed in the past from non-local senders). I don't do this kind of thing ever, so is what she saying true? Would I be guaranteed my money back (or the item in question) if she didn't send it or would she be able to change information and/or escape the authorities by some other false information?
60GB PS3....2 Controllers.. and 6 games!? Thats like $900 retail! Of course its a good deal! Its a great deal!! I'd go for it.
That sounds way too good to be true. BUY NOW!
Well, I've certified it's a great deal, but what about all the shipping stuff? I mean, she doesn't sound like a scammer. I asked her if she'd list on eBay or something, and she said eBay charges for listings and that she had her PayPal account hacked and all her money stolen (meaning she wasn't going to use eBay). I've never bought anything like this (send someone I don't know money for something I haven't seen except in pictures), so I'm just wondering if what she said will guarantee I'll either get my money back or the stuff I bought? I don't want to send her $200 and then she keeps it and I get no console or nothing.
Well are you listed under ebay? Maybe she could send you the system and games first and then you can send her the money.
Eh, she didn't want to do ebay because it costs to list, and while I can guarantee that I'd send the money (I'm no lousy scammer) I probably can't convince her that. Friend of mine pointed out something though, why does she have an excuse for everything I ask?
I say do you have friends here still you could send it to? No, not that I trust enough (Huh, no good friends after you've lived here for awhile? Odd).
How about listing it on eBay and I'll buy it then? eBay charges money for listings and I had my paypal account hacked and lost all the money in my bank. (Odd again, how did she manage to have such bad luck when I know no one whos been ripped off that horribly on eBay?) And my friend said those money order slips just say you bought it, not anything else and that I would have no legal proof that I would get it. Honestly though, why IS she selling it for $200? It's easily worth $500 or so and if I got it as a gift I'd want the most for it. Just seems odd to me and I guess I'll class this one in with scammer again. Unless you all can give me any suggestions to guarantee a positive transaction, I'll pass on this one. Thanks for the help again (second scammer I've asked stuff about they were selling on here!).
GrenadoHencho;3812329Maybe she is an idiot.......Or a scammer.
Yeah, as someone already said before, that is to good to be true:confused:
If she was trying to scam you im sure she'd ask for much more than $200.
Yeah that is true, but the system is faulty anyways. You dont know how competant she is, maybe it would get lost in the mail or something. Also, Ebay does have some good deals like this. I suggest you look on there before you trust this woman.
